Production Design Concept
SHUTTER ISLAND
This approach to SHUTTER ISLAND leans heavily into Teddy's perspective, portraying the characters and environments in a manner that reflects his unnerving, unreliable constructed reality. As such, most of the film will contain subtle visual clues as to the actual reality of the space and situation, but the tone and overall feeling of the spaces will be skewed by Teddy's hallucinations and conspiracies.
