THE REVOLUTIONISTS

For Whitman College's production of THE REVOLUTIONISTS, I assisted Nate Tomsheck (scenic designer and technical director) in assembling research and tonal images; providing sketches during early meetings with director Chris Petit; helping install the parquet flooring; repairing, building, and upholstering multiple chairs and benches; installing crystals in the chandeliers; wallpapering the main wall; painting 3 guillotine blades; and acting as the scenic charge and mentor for new scene shop employees.

CHEKHOV'S FARCES

As assistant scenic designer to Devin Peterson and an employee of Whitman College's scene shop, I assembled Devin's model and acted as a liaison between him and the shop; took notes and implemented any necessary changes during tech; stood in as the scenic charge while staining the wood; helped with set construction; and assisted in the fabrication of specialty props, such as the chickens that needed to be beheaded during the production.

PLAYING WITH FIRE
(AFTER FRANKENSTEIN)

a play based on the novel by Mary Shelley

As assistant props designer to Ashley Flowers, my tasks included, but were not limited to: researching, sourcing, budgeting, and purchasing props; fabricating set dressing such as mechanical switches, the mercury mirror, prosthetic limbs, and laboratory experiments such as bubbling tubes, a dismembered head in a box, a heart experiment, specimens in jars, and more. I also helped dress the set, take notes during tech, and construct the set as a scene shop employee.

BIG LOVE

While assisting Nate Tomsheck (scenic designer and technical director) with Whitman College's production of BIG LOVE, I was in charge of building, sizing, and painting the five seascapes that hang in the background; designing the bar shelf; designing, plasma cutting, and hand-rusting seven steel panels; carving and painting a foam section of the rock wall that had saw blades thrown at it; going on shop runs to re-stock supplies and pick up furniture from the props warehouses; and helping with paint and construction as a scene shop employee.
